Palworld 1.0: All New Water-Type Pals & Where to Find Them

In the next of our series of posts helping to cover the latest Pals added in the 1.0 update to the game, we'll be covering the newest Water pals! Some location information is gathered from community-driven resources and maps such as the one found here.

The Palworld community has always come together to help develop tools to make playing and exploring the Palpagos Islands easier, so it's worth having a companion by your side for your playthrough as a reference for where you can find the various Pals in the game!

Amione

Element(s): Water

Rideable? No

• Partner Skill(s): While working at your base, Amione increases the Watering work suitability levels of all other pals by +1.

• Where to Find Amione: Amione can be found directly west of the Zoe & Grizzbolt boss tower, along a smaller bridge between two of the earlier land masses in the Palpagos Islands.

Gloopie Primo

Element(s): Water / Normal

Rideable? No

• Partner Skill(s): Increases the Defense of other Water-type Pals in your party by 15-30%.

• Where to Find Gloopie Primo: Gloopie Primo will spawn in the new Sunreach region (the floating islands on the map), in the same area as Auri & Shaolong's boss tower. The easiest spot to find them is in the southwest islet in the region, as there are common spawns for this Pal just by the teleporter in that area.

Ophydia

Element(s): Water / Grass

Rideable? Yes

• Partner Skill(s): Player's attacks will inflict Soak on enemies while Ophydia is in your party.

• Where to Find Ophydia: Ophydia is a much more tricker pal to locate. Spawns are rare, as they don't spawn in clusters, but you can exclusively find them in the World Tree region. One of the easiest spots to find Ophydia is in the very north-west of the World Tree, in the icey area right beside the furthest teleport point on the map.

Panthalus

Element(s): Water

Rideable? Yes (Flying)

• Partner Skill(s): While working at your base, Panthalus will act as a guard that patrols in the air and automatically attacks intruders from above.

• Where to Find Panthalus: Panthalus doesn't actually naturally spawn around your map. Instead, you'd need to SUMMON this pal, which requires that you have (or previously completed) the 'Panthalus' mission in the main storyline. This mission walks you through finding "Echobones" around the map. Once you have collected all 4 of these, the quest-giver will let you craft an Echoing Flute which allows you to summon Panthalus.

Shaolong

Element(s): Dragon / Water

Rideable? Yes

• Partner Skill(s): For each other Dragon-type pal in your party, Shaolong's attack is increased by 4-8%.

• Where to Find Shaolong: Shaolong can be found exclusively within be World Tree, and is scattered throughout the more central area of the map. Many of you may recognize the dragon from the original reveal trailer for Palworld 1.0, which teased a fight against Shaolong before we originally knew its identity!

Skutlass

Element(s): Water

Rideable? No

• Partner Skill(s): Skutlass is uniquely able to turn into a melee weapon! You may active the Fish Fillet skill to turn it into a sword, though if you have it in its sword form for too long, its health will become drained and it will be downed/injured.

• Where to Find Skutlass: Skutlass can be found at two main areas in the map. The first is in the main island of Sunreach,around the edges of the islet with the boss tower. The second is around the shoreline of the desert-like area in the middle of the main map. Your mileage may vary, but as long as you have the region unlocked, Sunreach feels like the quickest spot to teleport over to and find Skutlass.

Skutlass Ignis

Element(s): Water / Fire

Rideable? No

• Partner Skill(s): Much like regular Skutlass, the Ignis variant can also be transformed to become a sword. This mechanic works identically to the regular Pal, and will become incapacitated if used for too long in its sword form.

• Where to Find Skutlass Ignis: You can find Skutlass Ignis in abundance around the north-eastern most island in the map world map. This is the scorched volcanic area to the south-east of the wildlife sanctuary in the same corner.

Solmora

Element(s): Water

Rideable? Yes (in water)

• Partner Skill(s): While in your party, Solmora increases the chances of better talents in Pals you find through fishing.

• Where to Find Solmora: Solmora can be found on the main island in the Sunreach region. One of the most reliable spots is at the lake/pond directly to the north of the boss tower on the same island.

Solmora Lux

Element(s): Water / Electric

Rideable? Yes (in water)

• Partner Skill(s): While mounted on Solmora Lux, the player's attack type becomes Electric and attack is increased by 5-20%. Solmora Lux also increases the chances of better talents in Pals you find through fishing while in your party.

• Where to Find Solmora Lux: Solmora Lux exclusively spawns in the World Tree region, and is spread throughout the more barren orange biome on your map on the Western side of the area. As long as you have the teleport point unlocked on the east of this region, walking through the main valley path of the area should lead you to encountering them naturally.
