How to Get Thunderblood Essence in Valheim 1.0

What is Thunderblood Essence?

One of the two unique equipment sets added to Valheim in its 1.0 release makes use of the new Thunderblood Essence material found in the Deep North! In particular, this new essence can be used to create the following equipment items:

Thunderblood Atgeir

Thunderblood Axe

Thunderblood Bow

Thunderblood Crossbow

Thunderblood Dagger

Thunderblood Greataxe

Thunderblood Greatsword

Thunderblood Knucklechains

Thunderblood Mace

Thunderblood Sledge

Thunderblood Spear

Thunderblood Sword

Where to find Thunderblood Essence

The method for finding or farming Thunderblood Essence is actually the same as the source of Frostfire Essence!

When Fallen Warriors are killed in the Deep North, they have a 50% chance or either dropping 1 Thunderblood Essence, or 1 Frostfire Essence. Once you've gotten your Thunderblood Essence in this way, you can use it in a Black Forge to convert equipment to their Thunderblood variants!

More specifically, the signature points where these warriors will spawn in the Deep North are at Memorial / Ancient Altar areas, like the one pictured above. More than one of these will generate in your world, so they're not too rare to find!
