How to Get Frostfire Essence in Valheim 1.0

What is Frostfire Essence?

One of the many new material additions to Valheim 1.0 is Frostfire Essence, a material used for a new suite of equipment that you can use. In particular, the main equippable items you can craft using the new essence are:

Frostfire Atgeir

Frostfire Axe

Frostfire Bow

Frostfire Crossbow

Frostfire Dagger

Frostfire Greataxe

Frostfire Greatsword

Frostfire Knucklechains

Frostfire Mace

Frostfire Sledge

Frostfire Spear

Frostfire Sword

All Frostfire variants of weapons add additional frost damage compared to the original / traditional Nord styles of the same items. Although a lot of Frost damage is added this way, a bit of physical damage will be reduced in order to copensate.

Where to find Frostfire Essence

To keep things simple, there's really one method as to how to acquire Frostfire Essence.

When you kill Fallen Warriors located in the Deep North, you have a 50% chance of them dropping 1 Frostfire Essence. You can then use the essence in a Black Forge to convert the previously listed equipment items to their Frostfire variants!

In particular, the signature spawn point for these Fallen Warriors in the Deep North is in Memorial Place points of interest, pictured above. Multiple of these will spawn around your world, and are all occupied by Fallen Warriors.
