Minecraft Live 2026, What we expect to see
Posted by Cole | 19 March 2026
Mojang have already spoken about Minecraft Live and the future of Minecraft going forward, one of the main factors being that they feel unable to do a larger update at this time due to the amount of tech-debt within Minecraft, with that being said, they are steadily removing the tech-debt and improving the back-end of Minecraft meaning that there is still potential for a larger update in the future.
At Kinetic Hosting we’re hopeful for the future of Minecraft, we see big updates coming in the future, we just hope you share the vision! My Theories
Hi! I’m Cole, the Marketing Manager at Kinetic Hosting and this is what I personally think will be in the Minecraft Live as an individual who has played Minecraft and worked within the space for roughly 13 years. I have also watched every Minecraft Live as it came out so I know what is typically shown, with that being said this is all a theory and none of it is based on a particular fact, the facts we’ll get into later!
Firstly, I believe they will announce one or multiple new creatures, with the introduction of the new Baby Mobs, I think we’re going to get a new cute mob, like a Duck for example. I think they’re looking to add more life into the game with the update that will release shortly, thus they will likely be adding new mobs to fill some of the emptier biomes. Another example of a mob they could add would be the Crab, they already implemented the functionality of the interaction distance, all they need to do is add the mob and the item it drops!
I also believe we’re going to get announcements for some of the features in drops coming this year as well as a roadmap for the drop releases. What specifically will be in this drop is unknown to me.
I think it is very likely that they will announce a biome update, the biomes are currently very boring and I think that they will add some more tree generation and add new features to each biome to make them better to explore.
Given the Hytale release, I believe Mojang will have taken note of some of the key features and may recreate them in Minecraft, such as the Vertical Slabs and potentially clambering.
Overall these are just theories and shouldn’t be looked into further, as they aren’t working on larger updates some of these features, if planned, will likely be later in the year or early next year.
What is Known?
Not much is known about this Minecraft Live, but in one of the promotional materials, specifically the passport images, the Strider passport has a seed with specific coordinates at the bottom, if you go to this seed and coordinates on Bedrock Edition for the most recent version, you will find a ruined portal and a taiga village. There is a chance that this is teasing a Ruined Portal or Taiga Village revamp.
We know that Mojang will be focusing on smaller updates and fixing some of the issues with the backend of the game in order for them to create larger updates in the future.
What’s Next?
The next steps are to tune in on Saturday and watch what Mojang has to announce, or check in here shortly after Minecraft Live to get a breakdown on everything they release.
