Kinetic Unified Logins Are Coming

At the end of February we will be starting the slow rollout of Unified Kinetic Accounts. This system will bring billing features into the game panel, allowing for a single panel and a single account to manage your Kinetic Hosting servers.

What Is the Unified Login?

At the end of February we’ll be slowly rolling out our new billing system, replacing our current billing panel. The new billing system will be built into the Kinetic Panel, allowing you to manage your billing and servers all in one place. This means billing and your game panel will sit under one unified login.

Take Action If You Share Your Password

We know some users of our platform have opted to share their Kinetic Panel email and password with others, rather than use our sub-user feature.

This is never recommended, and we have had users steal servers from people who have given them a login.

When the unified login starts rolling out, anyone with your Kinetic Panel login will be able to see your billing information. The new system will not show personal information such as addresses or card info, but it will allow anyone with a login to cancel a server or open tickets that look like they are coming from the server owner.

As such, we strongly recommend that anyone who has shared their login changes their password and uses our sub-user system to allow others to access their server. You can find out more about sub-users here: https://www.kinetichosting.com/articles/kinetic-panel/basics/add-another-user-to-your-server

New Billing System

The new billing system will come with a modern UI and checkout that matches our current Kinetic Panel. It will allow you to set up donation or shared pots, letting you split server bills across users or communities.

You’ll be able to turn off automatic payments and switch to manual, as well as swap to weekly payments if you just want an extra week to complete your current Minecraft phase.

Along with this, we’ll be plumbing billing seamlessly into the game panel. If you’re on the panel and get a ticket reply, you’ll get a notification. If the server you’re working on has a missed payment or a request to cancel, we’ll let you know right within the panel.

There is so much more planned for the new billing system, and like our game panel, it will be updated over time to add more features, such as freezing servers.

When Will My Account Be Moved?

The rollout is planned for the end of February, so please take action before then if you have shared your password. The rollout will be slow, as we don’t want to mess this up. We have no ETA, and we can’t move accounts on request.
