Thank you to the 1000s of Hytale players who choose Kinetic Hosting

First off, thank you to the thousands of players who’ve chosen Kinetic as their host.

Now that the Hytale launch is out of the way, I wanted to sit down and write a proper post about it. Hytale has been on my personal radar since way back in 2019, long before I was CEO of a hosting company. So it’s genuinely cool to finally see the game in players’ hands, and even cooler that we got to be part of that launch.

The Launch Rundown

Unlike some providers, we didn’t get access to the Hytale server files before launch. About 24 hours beforehand, we found out that all Hytale servers would need to authenticate with Hytale’s authentication servers every time they boot.

To make sure this didn’t impact players on every restart, we had to apply as a GSP (Game Service Provider) with Hytale and get access to an authentication key so servers could handle this automatically.

While we did get the key early, the services we needed to test downloads and boots weren’t online until launch day, which meant a lot of the tooling had to be built without being able to fully test it ahead of time.

Despite that, we managed to get Hytale servers online within the first two hours of the official launch, with automatic authentication in place. This was without early file access, and even days later some hosts were still requiring players to manually authenticate their servers on boot.

Automatic Auth vs Manual Auth

Automatic authentication means your server handles authentication itself when it boots.

If you’ve used a host without this, you’ll know the alternative: running a command every time the server restarts and logging into your Hytale account manually. That can get in the way of auto restarts, crash recovery, and scheduled reboots, so getting this working properly was something we considered essential.

Features at Launch

Another thing I’m proud of is how much we had ready early on.

We launched with a mod installer on day one, and by day two we had a config editor, player management tools, a mod manager, and an update tool.

A lot of this comes down to the groundwork we’ve put into Panel 6, which has made it much easier for us to support new games without starting from scratch each time.

Scaling at Launch

Right now, thousands of players are playing on Hytale servers at Kinetic. Thank you to everyone who’s chosen us, not just for Hytale, but for any game we support. Hytale has already become our second-largest game.

Back in 2024, the Palworld launch involved a lot of long nights scaling our service to meet demand. While things stayed stable, it was intense. Seeing that work pay off this time around was great , even with more orders than Palworld, things scaled smoothly, without stock issues or emergency late nights.

A Small Blip

To be fully honest, things weren’t 100% perfect.

We did have a short panel outage of around 15 minutes as a large number of new users hit the system. This didn’t happen on launch day itself, but later as people continued ordering servers. The issue has been resolved, and we’re monitoring everything closely to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Final Note

Thank you again for choosing Kinetic. Our growth through 2025 has already been amazing, and it’s really nice to see so many people choosing us for their Hytale servers.

We appreciate it more than you probably realise.
