Huge Upgrade to Our DDoS Protection

We all know DDoS attacks are common when it comes to game servers. If you run a public server, it’s usually a case of when, not if, you’re going to get hit.

At Kinetic, we’ve always provided DDoS protection to keep your servers online. But as botnets have grown larger and attacks have become more frequent, it’s time for an upgrade.

This upgrade brings enterprise-grade edge protection to Kinetic servers.

Upgrading Your Protection

Some newer systems are already behind this additional layer of protection, using Cloudflare Magic Transit or Cosmic Guard.

Starting soon, we’ll be rolling out enhanced DDoS protection to the following locations:

• 🇺🇸 USA – Texas

• 🇺🇸 USA – Washington, D.C.

• 🇺🇸 USA – San Francisco

• 🇬🇧 UK – London

• 🇱🇺 Luxembourg

• 🇳🇱 Netherlands – Amsterdam

• 🇧🇷 Brazil – São Paulo

We’ll also be applying this protection to upgraded systems in Singapore, although the rollout there will be a bit slower.

Don’t worry if you’re in Germany, Finland, Australia, or Canada you’re already behind advanced DDoS protection.

Powered by Cloudflare & Cosmic Guard

This new layer of protection is powered by Cloudflare or Cosmic Guard, two industry-leading providers that mitigate massive attacks every day.

What This Means for Your Server

To move your server behind the new protection systems, your IP address will need to change.

• If you’re using a Kinetic subdomain → we’ll handle everything for you

• If you’re using a direct IP → you may be impacted

We’ll give you at least one week’s notice before your server is moved. When your IP address changes, you'll be able to see your new one in the panel. Issue the new IP to your players and update configs to use the new IP, and you'll be all set.

• A popup in the game panel

• Email (before and after the move)

• Discord announcements

• Our status X (Twitter) account

You can also subscribe to alerts on our status page (email, webhooks, Slack, etc.) to stay in the loop.

Will This Cost Me Anything?

Nope. This upgrade is completely free.

No price increases, no hidden costs, just better protection.

Will This Affect My Connection?

No, we’ve run extensive testing, and these systems are already active on some nodes.

There’s no noticeable impact on latency or connection quality.
