Minecraft 26.1 | The Cuteness Update

Mojang are gearing up to release the next Minecraft update, the first update of 2026, It’s 26.1, it hasn’t been officially named but we are calling it the “Cuteness Update” due to the new models they have added, but more on that later in the post!

Changes

As you can see in the above image, Mojang have changed the baby models for most of the mobs, excluding the Nautilus and Happy Ghast.

Below is a list of all of the mobs that have had an updated baby model:

• Chicken

• Cow

• Donkey

• Dolphin

• Drowned

• Fox

• Glow Squid

• Goat

• Hoglin

• Horse

• Husk

• Llama

• Mooshroom

• Mule

• Pig

• Piglin

• Polar Bear

• Rabbit

• Sheep

• Sniffer

• Strider

• Squid

• Turtle

• Villager

• Wolf

• Zoglin

• Zombie

• Zombie Villager

• Zomblified Piglin
  

With adding these new baby models, Mojang have also added the “Golden Dandelion”, an item that you can feed to a baby mob to ensure it stays as a baby

It can be crafted by surrounding a dandelion with golden nuggets.

If you decide that you would like your baby mobs to be able to grow up after feeding them a golden dandelion, you can feed them another!

Name Tags are also now craftable, being crafted with 1 paper and 1 of any kind of nugget.

What’s Next?

Though this update may be small, so are the baby animals! We’re looking forward to hopping on this new update and seeing how many of the baby animals we can collect in our zoo!
