Kinetic SFTP BETA v1.1.1

We haven’t previously posted patch notes for our SFTP client here, but as more people are now using it, I’ll start including them.

Keep in mind this currently only supports Windows and is still in Beta. As we haven’t posted changelogs for the last few versions, this includes those updates as well.

Login Screen

• Reworked login screen to clean it up and make it clearer what information is required

• Sherman now appears in the bottom corner to guide you on how to log in to an SFTP server

• Added improved error messages for incorrect passwords

Normal View

• Normal view has been removed

File View

• Remote file pane now shows a loading state instead of appearing blank

• Moved view modes to the right side

• Moved action row to the left side

• Added “Show Panel Files” button to view Kinetic Panel storage files

• Added support for drag-and-drop uploads

• Added file size checks

• Added spinner when file actions are in progress

Fixed

• Fixed issues with incorrect date display

• Selection highlights no longer show incorrect checkmark colours

• Fixed issue where mass actions could accidentally open a file instead of selecting it

• Context menu no longer gets stuck

• Fixed file names overlapping delete, download, and move modals

Editor

• Added syntax highlighting for common file types

• Added shortcuts such as Ctrl + F (search) and Ctrl + S (save)

• Switching tabs no longer keeps files open from previous tabs

Activity

• Action logs now better show file move progress

• Action logs now better display upload progress

• Action logs now indicate whether a file was replaced or created

• Console now shows all actions happening on your server

• Added “Clear Actions” button to clear the log

Transfer

• Added more detailed progress reporting when moving files

• Other servers are now shaded out while a transfer is in progress

Fixed

• Fixed inability to connect to servers not hosted by Kinetic

• Fixed inability to connect to FTPS-based servers

Settings

• Removed old throttle limits for the SFTP connection (these were not working correctly)

• Added file size limit setting to prevent large transfers

• Added new timeout settings

A new Sherman has appeared :Storage_Sherman: Storage Sherman. He’s here to help guide you around the SFTP console. You can find him in the bottom corner of the client.

Overall

The SFTP client is now significantly faster at uploading and downloading files than before.
