How To Update Your Minecraft Server

Last updated 05 Feb 2026

Need a Minecraft server?

Spin one up fast with our feature-rich panel and seriously low prices.

If Minecraft just released a new update & you would like to play it, you can update your server to the Newest version by following this guide

  1. Login to the Kinetic Panel

  2. Stop your server by clicking the power button, then click the square icon.

  3. Locate and open the "Version Installer" menu.

  4. In the Version Installer menu, you can select what loader you're using on your server. Then, you can select a version to install on the right side of the screen.

  5. When you click "Install Version", you'll be met with a pop-up screen asking you if you want to make an instance before installing. An instance is similar to a backup, where you can roll back your server to its state before the installation took place.

  6. Once the installation has complete, you'll be able to confirm the installation by looking at the top of the screen on the Version Installer menu.

  7. You can now start your server by clicking the power button, then click the play button.

Make sure to create a backup within the Backup Manager first to be safe. While this is not required, it is recommended.
