How Often Should A Minecraft Server Restart?

Last updated 04 Jun 2025

Need a game server?

Spin one up fast with our feature-rich panel and seriously low prices.

We recommend that you restart your Minecraft server at least once per day.

This will provide many benefits like allowing the RAM being used by Minecraft to clear out useless and old data from when your players disconnect, chunks, entities and more. Restarting every 24 hours will make a huge different on the performance of a server.
