What we know so far about Hytale
Posted by Cole | 9 January 2026
With Hytale only a week away, we’re feeling the hype around the game continue to build! Though the game is only releasing in Beta, we suspect that it’ll be pretty big already!
We haven’t seen much from the game yet but we’ve been fed information slowly through the blog post. Today we’ll compile some of the information that they’ve shared to make it easy for you to look over!
To make the information easier to understand, we’ll break it down into specific sections.
World Generation/ Biome Progression

This picture shows the 4 zones that make up the world of Orbis, the planet the player will be on.
The layer system shown implies a similar world layout to Valheim, with the starting biome being Zone 1 and the difficulty increasing depending on the biome you are in.
This also implies that the enemies you’ll be fighting in each biome will vary widely, potentially increasing in difficulty as you reach the next zone.
You can read the old blog post regarding this here but the information may no longer be accurate due to its age.
No relevant information regarding this has been revealed since, so we’ll have to discover how close we are in this prediction when the game comes out!
In terms of the world generation itself a new blog post was released as I’m writing this regarding it, you can read it here!
They are using the original system they developed when the game was first announced for the beta, but once they have finished development on the new system that was started, it’ll be rolled out to make the world generation work smoothly.
Creatures (Hostile & Passive)
We have seen plenty of Concept Art regarding the creatures of Hytale, including different types of mobs, we’ll list a few that we’re aware of below and any imaging we have of them.
Spiders

Kweebecs

Trorks

Ferans

Sea Creatures

Tropical Jungle Creatures

Void Eye

Scaraks

Skeletons

Varyn’s Spawn

Void Dragon

Aquatic Creatures

These are all of the concept art images that are currently shared regarding creatures though we’re sure to see plenty of them in each biome when the beta is released.
Even with a small amount of concept art, there is an incredibly varied ecosystem, from the oceans to the jungles to the dungeons, each enemy will be different, and have different attack/ defense mechanics.
The Wildlife of Orbis has been one of the main focuses of the marketing material pushed for Hytale, the world should be very diverse, even in the beta.
Modding
The Hypixel Studios team has made it abundantly clear that modding is at the forefront of their development strategy for Hytale, they are embracing the community aspect of the game. This is incredibly obvious in their server software, making it so only the server needs the mod installed, it will automatically install on the client when needed, but more on the Server-side later.
Hytale mods will be written in Java, the same as Minecraft mods, meaning that there are significant transferable skills, making it easy for Minecraft modders to create content for Hytale.
They are also writing blog posts to assist modders create, they show how to use BlockBench to create entities.
Here are a few blog posts that we got information from that we feel are a good read!
Hytale Modding Strategy
Server Side
At the moment, not too much is known regarding the Hytale Server Software, just that, when playing on Multiplayer, performance is likely to be much, much better for the user due to how much is being loaded at one time. Hypixel Studios have chosen to offload this to the server when playing Multiplayer.
Also, as mentioned before, the Server will handle everything regarding mods for Hytale, meaning that there is much less manual work for each individual player on a server, only the Server Owner will need to configure the mods a single time for the server.
At Kinetic Hosting, we are going to support Hytale from minute one of the Beta Release, we are already holding a presale for Hytale servers, meaning that users can have their server pre-purchased for the start of the beta, and we don’t start taking the second payment until the 13th of February, no matter when you order!
