How To Install Plugins With Mods

Sorry, we don't yet have a video for this article, but we're working on it.

1.7.10 - Forge

To get plugins to work on 1.7.10 Forge we'll need to use something called Thermos.

Thermos

1 Head to the Official Thermos Github

2 Then click on assets.

3 You will now download the libraries.zip and the Thermos-1.7.10-1614-server.jar - Or the latest version at the time.

4 Next, you will go to the File Manager on the Kinetic Panel.

5 Once you are there, Upload both of the files you downloaded. Then, right click on the libraries.zip and select unarchive

6 After, you will head to the Settings Page & put the Thermos Jars name there.

You should now be able to add plugins to your server.

1.12.2 - Forge

If you want to use Plugins on Minecraft 1.12.2 Forge, you can utilize Magma or Mohist.

Magma

1 Head to the Official Magma Maintained Github

2 Head to the Releases on the right hand side.

3 Now download the Magma-1.12.2-b4c01d2-server.jar - Or the latest version at the time.

4 Next, you will go to the File Manager on the Kinetic Panel & Upload the Magma Jar you downloaded.

5 After, you will head to the Settings Page & put the Magma Jars name there.

You should be able to now add plugins to your server.

Mohist

To get plugins to work on 1.12.2 or above, for Minecraft Forge, you will can use Mohist.

1 Head to the Official Mohist Website.

2 You will now see a drop down on the right hand side for a Variety of Minecraft Versions. Find the one that you will need and download it.

4 Next, you will go to the File Manager on the Kinetic Panel & Upload the Mohist Jar you downloaded.

5 After, you will head to the Settings Page & put the Mohist Jars name there.

You should be able to now add plugins to your server.

1.14 + - Forge

For versions past 1.14, we're going to use Arclight. Both Magma and Mohist have versions past 1.12.2, but in our experience, Arclight has fewer issues, so is the better option to go for.

1 Head to the Official Github for Arclight

2 Download the version you need, If you are looking for an older version, click on the "Releases" on the right hand side. depending if your server is running Fabric or Forge, you can select the correct loader you are using.

3 Set the Arclight jar on the settings page, and you're all set.

You can now add plugins to the plugins folder in the file manager.

Sponge Forge

These jars will get plugins to run on your Forge server, but it might come with stability issues, or cause mods not to work correctly.

If you want to try something else, you can use Sponge Forge

Download the version you need, then upload it into your mods folder Sponge Plugins

Sponge won't use Bukkit/Spigot/Paper plugins, it uses its own, they can be found on the Sponge Powered Plugins Page

Potential Issues

World Corruption - Running Mods and Plugins can cause problems with your servers world, we always recommend utilizing our Backup Manager to have backups before you make any changes.

Moving To or From Arclight - If you wanting to do this, if you have plugins on your server and you are moving off of Arclight, some plugins will do more than expected placing things in the world for an example. With this, it's best to see what the plugin actually does before adding Arclight onto your server.

Stability - Arclight can be Unstable causing your server to randomly crash with no real cause. In some cases, it might be a mixture of the mods and plugins you are running on the server putting your server in a crash loop.
